Apothecary Diaries Season 1 Ep 24 UNCUT REACTION!

Comments

I felt that cry about the AI overview 🀣 I loved you guys’ reaction! Can’t wait for season 2! And if you want to bing another show, I recommend Orb: On the Movements of the Earth which is finishing up soon (24 eps?). Its a sleeper hit, I’d say, but its becoming more popular. I hope you recover quickly from the surgery!!

The cool thing is that we just see Lakan through the lens of Maomao and Jimshi, who both have a negative bias of him. If you tgink about it, we have ZERO reason to suspect him other than he's a weirdo and smart. We never see him do anything bad. We only see that his "vibe" is off, but that's again just because of our perspective and early judgement of his character. I love the way it's done. It feels like both us, the viewers, and the main characters we deem as fair and just, have been pretty unfair towards Lakan.

btw are y'all still gonna take a break before starting season 2 or was that just cause you expected these episodes to go up before Carson would recover from his tonsillectomy?

Lakan saved Jinshi's life by telling the guards to let her in. He helped her in a big way. He wasn't part of the plot, and knew nothing of it. Ge didn't leave it to Maomao. He was in the dark. Maomao is actually being unfair to Lakan from what I see so far in this show.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

The audience learns about Lakan at almost the same pace as Jinshi, we’re in his position a lot the second half of the season. Maomao is investigating the assassination plot, but Jinshi is trying to see what Lakan, a guy who keeps bothering him, is all about.

I love Maomao, she's so real. Can't wait for season 2 with ya'll!

If you go back to the warehouse fire, Lakan found the pipe on the ground: if he were really involved, he could have just gotten rid of the evidence. Instead, we next see Lihaku investigating and Maomao comments on his belt indicating having gotten promoted, and we later find out that Lakan seems to be the one to promote Lihaku; we can maybe assume that Lakan put Lihaku on that particular investigation, similar to how he put Maomao (specifically) on to the situation with the metal worker, and if you watch back, possibly how he mentioned to Gaoshun the similarity between the two cases involving blow-fish/seaweed and left him to figure the rest out.

it is at this point, I recognized that I should not trust the direction of the show and make no assumptions based on looks, only rely on spelled out information to make theories, because the show will make someone suspicions without any tangible evidence, then make me feel stupid for suspecting them in the first place

i’m glad you enjoyed the season, can’t wait for season 2, fyi the show is sticking to doing one light novel per cour personally i think it’s nice to have an anime that is adapting a novel and has a set narrative that works well with the seasonal model, it makes telling a mystery in seasons easier than adapting something that is published weekly (i’m mentioning this cause of the one piece comparison)

Yeah it's heavily implied that Meimei had developed feelings for Lakan over the years. That's why Maomao says she's the kindest hearted courtesan and that she hopes love finds her. She could've easily stayed silent about Fengxian and allow Lakan to buy her out but she wanted to make her big sister happy at the end of her life

Lakan was definitely maligned purposefully in the show, but his very nature is passive power plays - he doesn't take life all that seriously and identifies his biggest talent to be the effective use of other people's competences. He instinctively pieces together the conspiracy but can't really be bothered. Then he realizes that he can play a game with Maomao, so he introduces the metal worker puzzle in the hopes that Maomao will play the game, too. He delights in her intellect and places himself at the most likely crime scene to watch her splendid performance. But once again, he doesn't take all risks into account and his daughter leaves in Jinshi's arms, severely hurt. The inability to recognize faces is a disorder on its own called Prosopagnosia. Looking forward to watching season 2 with you!😊
