When the Andros took the Gold Omega Morpher and gave it to Zhane, in an attempt to save his life, Spa'ark, AKA the Death Ranger took control of his body. When Jason and the other Omega Rangers found out what Andros did and what he took, they didn't really grasp the severity of the situation. They hunted down Andros only to come face to face with Death itself and after a quick exchange, Spa'ark started to see Jason for what he was. Someone valuable, powerful, and of course, someone who needed to die so he killed him. Seeing an empty vessel, Spa'ark took over Jason's Body, bringing him back to life but at a cost, his body was now his with Jason buried deep down inside with no way to surface. As a result, the Death Ranger changed his ranger form into something more fitting, more brutish and sinister. From there, he would begin his march in spreading death wherever he went.
I hope you guys like this one. It's a complete deviation away from the original Death Ranger helmet with more sharp edges, fins on top and a more exaggerated visor that just screams intimidation. Jason being who is make this design just look and feel more sinister and the resolve for Jason breaking free of the Death Ranger was probably the best redemption there has ever been for him. Which is why he is the best Leader the rangers ever had.
