Ninjetti Falcon Saber | Secrets of the Ninjetti Lore Entry #2

The Ninjetti Falcon Saber was used by the first leader of the Ninjetti who possessed the Sacred Falcon Spirit, Amari. It must be stated that this weapon is not based on the familiar weapon Saba, but in fact is the other way around. When Zordon would go on to create the White Ranger, he would draw inspiration from the Falcon Saber to craft Saba. Where the Falcon Saber was shorter in length and sleek in design, fit for use by a Ninjetti, Saba would be longer and more armored, to be used by a ranger. As we all know, Zordon would give Saba a consciousness so that the White Ranger could commune with it. The Falcon Saber would have no such power. However, it did allow Amari to commune with her Ninjetti Spirit, allowing a deeper connection when it came to battle.

The Saber was created by Dulcea and would go on to be one of the greatest weapons the Ninjetti would use. Amari trained with it constantly, using its shorter length to strike fast and hard from the shadows to deliver devastation strikes. Because this weapon allowed a deeper connection with her Sacred animal she could will the weapon back to her at any moment. This allowed her to perfect her own technique in which she would throw the weapon like shuriken, having it strike its target on the way out, will it back to strike again, and then secure it to deliver a finishing blow. Amari would name this the Falcon Tailwind and this would become her signature move.

After Ivan Ooze’s imprisonment, Amari willingly surrendered the weapon back to Dulcea who kept it hidden with the rest. Because of this, the connection between the Falcon Spirit and Amari faded. Amari would then go on to live a long life, marry and have kids of her own, always telling them stories of the brave Ninjetti Warriors, and how she personally knew the one who possessed the Sacred Falcon Spirit and their trusty saber.

During the siege of Phaedos, in an effort to secure the Sacred Animals for himself, an invader only known as the Dark One, tried to find and take the weapons for himself after hearing about their triumph over Ivan Ooze. Fortunately, he was not successful. To this day, the weapons remain hidden somewhere on Phaedos. Dulcea did not bestow the weapon to Tommy Oliver for fear that he and the other rangers would not pass the Trials, thus revealing the weapons to all who would seek them. As the rangers returned to Earth after receiving the sacred power, Dulcea, in the form of a snow owl, returned to the Ninjetti Temple where she perched herself on a tomb, looking out at the monolith.
