Fic Power Rankings

I have decided to establish a power ranking for the various supernatural martial artists, psychics, magic users, and so on in this fic. This applies in generalities, and there is always the potential for outliers to crop up over the course of the story based on various power-ups, transformations, item-based enhancements, and so on. In general, however, these are the rankings. I will list a few examples at each tier to let people know where some well-known characters stand at present, but you all can likely figure things out based on inferences from there. I do not want to keep having to answer questions on where so-and-so falls on the scale, so if you don't see a name, wait until they show up in the story or draw inferences based on the examples given.

So, with that in mind, here are the rankings as of June Nineteen-Ninety-Eight:

S+ Tier: S+-Tier Threats are extremely rare and for good reason. An S+-Tier Threat is at least capable of destroying a significant portion of life in a single dimension. Some S+-Tier Threats are even more potent, capable of bringing about multi-dimensional collapses. This would be what would happen should the First Evil manage to fully materialize, the Ori decide to conquer everywhere, the Wolf, Ram, and Hart succeed in their plans for Planar Domination, or Glorificus succeed in capturing and harnessing the power of the Key to breach dimensional barriers. This is also the level that the ancient Old Ones operated on such as Set, Illyria, and Dread Cthulu. Should the Ancient Djinni ever be freed from their dimensional bonds, this is the threat their army would be. This is the level that the Elder Gods and Powers That Be act at when acting in Concert, alongside the most powerful of the Gods, such as Raiden.

S Tier: These are planetary threats. Glorificus, a Fully-Empowered Queen Beryl, a fully Awakened Yamato-no-Orochi, and some of the mid-level Old Ones. A Ha'tak Attack Ship also qualifies as do the majority of larger interstellar warships. So does Shao Khan when going all out and focusing on depopulation, such as happened during the events of Mortal Kombat Three. It is currently theorized that this is the level that the Immortal who wins the Game will reach as part of the Prize by several of the more unhinged Immortals. This is the level that Canon Willow Reached just before Xander had to talk her down from destroying the world. This is also the level that most Gods operate at, along with most singular ascended beings. Adria usually operated at this level of power as the Orici in Canon.

A+ Tier: This is where you can destroy or depopulate larger islands of at least the size of the Big Island of Hawaii. This is where the Yamata-No-Orochi currently sits, though if it fully awakens it gets immediately bumped up one tier to S Tier. Shang Tsung is at this level, provided he can draw upon the well of souls to fuel his magic. It is also where the lowest rung of Old Ones, the Olvikan Demon, tends to operate. Most Priors of the Ori have been granted this level of power, as do most Partial Ascended. Were an Illithis Elder Brain ever to find its way into this dimension, this would be where it would sit on the power rankings. Moderate-sized Interstellar Warships tend to come with this capability as their default and can ratchet up from there. A Half-Empowered Queen Beryl would sit here. Sailor Moon tends to sit here as well, though only when she has to fight seriously, otherwise her potential tends to be locked behind her, well, Usagi-ness. The Power of Three Allows the Charmed Ones to act at this level when casting together.

A Tier: This is where you start getting people with the potential to blow up or depopulate islands. Only the most ancient of the Master Vampires, like Kakistos or the Master, ever reached this level. High-class demons with wide-area powers, some of your smaller interstellar warships, and the like. This is also where you get people like Akuma, Gouken, Morrigan Aensland, M. Bison when he's fully charged with Psycho Power, and the weaker Divine Avatars mandated by the Powers That Be for Gods taking Mortal Form. The Empress of the C'tarl C'tarl Empire is at this level, as is Queen Beryl when not empowered by dark energies from an interdimensional patron. Were Conan of Cimmeria still alive today, he would be somewhere in the lower half of this tier. Mayor Wilkins is at this level currently. The sheer Psychic Might of Commodore Zenkral of Zam'den'kris, the nominal ruler of the Gith Corsairs in this dimension, is at this level. The Outer Senshi tend to sit here, with the exception of Saturn. Each individual Charmed One also sits here.

B+ Tier: This is the level of Most Master Vampires with a few centuries of undeath under their belts. This is also where the majority of Mid-class Demons fall. Generally speaking, at this level, people can level city blocks and destroy smaller armored formations or medium-strength infantry formations. This is where Liu Kang currently is as well as Bi Han Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and, alongside Ryu from Street Fighter, and most of the more powerful characters from King of Fighters, including some Boss Characters like Billy Kane. This was the level that the Whirlwind was at during its height in the eighteen-sixties. It's where people like Inner Senshi, Shitennou, and Tuxedo Mask stand. The more powerful Thri-Kreen and Gith Corsair Captains tend to be at this level, as do most Goa'uld with a Kara Kesh and some basic personal technologies, alongside some of the historical Harcesis Children. The Four Horsemen of Highlander are at this level, as are the majority of Wiccan Witches. This is also where Buffy currently sits. It's also the level that Ulysses is currently at.

B Tier: This is the level that most Master Vampires who survive their first couple of decades tend to reach, along with the lowest Mid Class demons. This is also the peak of Human Ability without cheats such as a special bloodline, divine patron, ancient master, or what have you. This is the level that most slayers reach before they die and is also the level that the overwhelming majority of Youma top out at. This also is the Average Physical Baseline for a Soldier of the C'tarl-C'tarl Empire or Triceraton Republic and the average level that most Gith and Thri-Kreen Pirates tend to reach. This is the current level of people like Kung Lao, Kuai Liang Sub-Zero, and the Majority of the Mortal Kombat Roster are at. It's also where Current Xander Harris, Shiela Martini, and Amy Madison are. Ken Masters, Guile, and Fei Long are at this level right now, along with the bulk of the active Street Fighter Cast, though Fei Long and Ken are brushing up against B+ tier. This is where Goa'uld with Unas Hosts but no other technology tend to fall, alongside most Earth-based Cyborgs and Androids such as the Russian Jack-Series Combat Android and Jackson Briggs post-cyber augmentation. This is where the Trio Currently Sits after having the powers of Magneto, Doctor Doom, and the Green Goblin mainline into them by magic, as well as where Mister Trick, the aide-de-camp of Kakistos is currently at. This is the level of most of the non-boss characters in Darkstalkers and King of Fighters. An Asgard Exoskeleton plus Asgard Infantry weaponry could get someone to this level, and the majority of Wraith in the Pegasus Galaxy top out at this level. This is the level that most Immortals tend to reach before being targeted by the Four Horsemen.

C+ Tier: This is the level of the Veteran Supernaturally Skilled Human Combatant, Most Divine Champions, Journeyman Sorcerers and Chi Adepts, and the overwhelming majority of Human Psychics. This is the upper half of Lower Class Demons like Fyarl Demons and Brachen Demons. Stronger Youma also tend to top out at this level. This is also the Level that most Master Vampires achieve before being slain by Hunters when they enter the big leagues. This is also the level that more powerful Slayers Start at, along with Go'auld with baseline human hosts and without any technology. Think the Gorch Brothers, Canon Members of the Trio, Canon Season Three Amy Madison, Season One Buffy, and Freshly Called Faith. This is also the current level of the Ninja Turtles and was the level at which the Shredder operated before his death. This is the level that Baraka of the Tarkatans, Mileena of Outworld, and Kitana of Edenia are currently at along with people like Terry Bogard, Robert Garcia, and the majority of the cast of King of Fighters. Chun-Li of Interpol is also currently at this level, as is Dhalsim. On the Darkstalkers side, we have people like B.B. Hood here. Oz is currently at this level when he fully leverages his Werewolf Form and Nascent Chi Powers together.

C Tier: This is the level of the Average Supernaturally Skilled or Elite Human Combatant. Think Demon Hunters like Jack Crow, Most Watchers, Non-Supernaturally Skilled Members of the Special Forces such as most SG Teams, Sorcerers of at Least Fourth Circle, Novice Chi Adepts, and most genetically modified humans such as the Average Jaffa. This is also the level the average Minion Vampire is at and is the level that most Slayers start at once called. Think SG-One if fully kitted out for combat, Sonya Blade's current level, someone like Ethan Rayne, Kendra, Sakura Kasugano, or any of the weaker non-joke fighting game Characters. Most Youma and Lower-Class Demons also fall in this area. This is also where people like Casey Jones fall on the scale. Most Quickened Immortals tend to reach this level after one lifetime in the Game. Tequila Yuen and Keung are also at this level. Current Willow is at this level now.

D+ Tier: This is the level that most Skilled Human Adults reach in the prime of their lives when they have no or very minor supernatural abilities. Think Season Two and Three Xander Harris, Veteran Human Soldiers, Apprentice Sorcerers, Quickened Pre-Immortals, the Average Potential Slayer, and Beginner Chi Adepts. This is the default level you need to be at to be considered a Joke Character in a fighting game such as Dan Hibiki. This is also where Goblins and Kobolds always top out, even with magic or special abilities. Fledgeling Vampires also tend to come in around this level, fully turned, though if they aren't staked, they can go up to C Tier by feeding in around a week. The weakest people with Psionic Potential generally start at this tier if they develop any of their abilities at all.

D Tier: This is where most older human teenagers and adults in the prime of their lives fall on the Spectrum, as well as younger humans who have minor abilities. Think of someone like Kevin Mcallister from Home Alone given time and materials to tinker or season one Xander Harris. Goblins and Kobolds tend to top out here, though some can lean on magic powers to get to D+ Tier.

F+ Tier: This is about the level of the average Human from thirteen to fifteen falls on the spectrum, a Human Pre-teen with three or more years of martial arts experience, or your average Goblin or Kobold with a pointy stick

F: Tier: This is where the hopeless fall on the Spectrum. Think Goblin Recruits, Kobold Pups, Naked Asgard Clone Bodies without any tech, or your Average Human Child.
