She was holding her weapon steady, and she was staring at Karim with an angry look. She was a girl from to north, not like local docile girls who walk to their fate like sheep. Her sister, instead, was not in a fighting mood; she was staring at Karim with fear.
Before Karim said the first word, Doucette attacked. She notices how the man was looking at her sister and used that moment. She made several slashes with a sword and forced Karim to block her strikes. Although Karim was an experienced warrior, It took a moment to realize that Doucette was a real danger. She was fast, but she needed to take care that her sister was following her.
Doucette was thrilled when she realized that slaver was confused, and she managed to surprise him with her fighting skills. She attacked attack after attack, but the man was just defending her strikes. Finally, she realized that he wanted to get her tired. Doucette was already thirsty. They have been more than half a day on the run without water. So it was better to handle him quickly because he had water with him.
