I feel your pain, Joe. It used to make me sad, but one of the things I realized from rewatching the show along with your reactions is how frustrated these episodes make me instead. But it's not due to the lack of things to enjoy (I actually like how the wedding turned out), it's more abut knowing they're wasting time with storylines that the show didn't need, when there are so many others that could be developed instead. We know the potential is there, but they're just dragging down the same issue and sometimes it feels like the characters are being dragged down along with it. I still love a lot of things about this season, but yeah, it's not an easy one, lol.

I remember feeling so confused when I first watched this that we were actually going through with Lane and Zach getting married and that it wasn't just something they'd break off after a couple weeks. It did make me wonder if the writers chose to have them take this step because they like them as a couple or because they wanted Lorelai to have a foil to play against with her own wedding on hold. (I also kind of wish Dave had showed up at the wedding since he'd theoretically been good friends with the whole band. Would've made for some fun drama.)

I feel awful for Lorelai and in general in her relationship with Luke rn;( as much as I love them together he’s been neglecting her and kinda treating her badly for a while now and she should be more communicative about it but she’s also trying to be supportive. HE on the other hand should be able to notice that his fiancé is miserable. It hurts to watch😭 As for Christopher, as much as he has been a bad dad to Rory and has hurt Lorelai in the past when Sherry got pregnant, I still think he has good qualities too and is a great character on the show (good or bad)! So I hope you give him a chance when he shows up❤️

Yeah, there have definitely been episodes before where I haven’t been into the main plot but still enjoyed it because of side stuff, but this one had very mid side plots, like people saying ‘michele dancing’ like that wasn’t 10 seconds of screen time 😭but I get what you’re saying for sure, again, it’s a 5/10 which to me doesn’t mean a bad episode just a mid one

That’s totally fair, and I have to say that I’m glad you won’t fake a reaction and that you are so honest. That’s really cool! My point is though, that it confuses me that if the main plot isn’t to your liking you seemed to just didn’t care for anything about the ep, even the things that could have been funny still. I don’t care about the fact they they were gonna marry, but I could still appreciate that how they went about it was really good and funny. That’s all :D

What am I on about....let's see....the negative-seeming vibes throughout the whole reaction, just based on it showing Christopher and Zach early on....(I get it, you don't like them, most of us on here don't like them either...also, I don't care about ratings, but more the general vibe of the reaction. Pointing out a few OK things in the last 2 minutes doesn't make the reaction more fun.

That is not my point. :) It was about you deciding upfront not to care about the whole EP, based on seeing characters you don't like. Also, there can be fun elements (especially with GG, which is not that much of a plot-driven show!) that one can still be open to, provided a "checking out of the EP before it even starts" isn't what's happening. :)

It was very clear early in the ep it was gonna be about lane and Zachs wedding which I have zero interest in, therefore I have zero interest in what was the main plot of this episode

Totally agree with some of what has already been said about this reaction. Usually love your reactions to GG, Joe, but this one felt like you immediately wrote off the EP based on just Christopher or Zach being in it. There was some fun stuff going on (besides Lorelai's dress haha), like Michel's dance, Kirk's bartenders, etc, but it felt like a "oh, Zach and Christopher are in it? I'm out" kind of reaction from the get go, which is so not fun to watch. I felt a similar vibe re. one of the previous reactions, but this one was even more obvious.

I respect your opinion, but I have to say I'm surprised you didn't enjoyed anything about this ep. Don't get me wrong, I have no interest in Zach and Lane together, but so much of the ep felt OG Gilmore Girls with Mrs Kim, Lane, Lorelai, Michelle.... I feel like if you liked Lane's love interest you would have found a big part of this ep fun or at least enjoyable and that's why I'm a bit confused, because Zach wasn't even in this ep before you gave up on the ep. Am I wrong?

Very good point made about not liking Zach and Lane together, but still it can be appreciated that there was a lot of cool and fun stuff about the wedding. Same goes for the EP. I don't think that not liking Christopher/Zach/Jackson/(fill in the blank) means the EP totally sucks and there's no joy in it (which is, unfortunately, how it felt watching the reaction).

I might sound mean but I’m really pissed at Lorelai for doing that speech. It made the wedding super awkward and uncomfortable. I get it she’s disappointed and hurt by everything Luke has been doing but to do that at Lane’s wedding?! Not cool. She’s had months to talk to Luke and she’s kept quiet. This was neither the time or place and however people feel about Zach and Lane marrying, it isn’t fair that she bulldozed the reception like that.

As much as I dislike the Lane and Zach pairing, their wedding was undeniably cool and unique: - Wedding cake paid homage to the White Stripes - Two multicultural ceremonies in one day - Performed at their own reception - Hep Alien covered I'm A Believer which, yes, most know from Shrek and Smash Mouth, but was originally a Monkees song which definitely fits with Lane's "snobbish" (as Kyon put it) music criteria -Hot dogs and fries for the meal C'mon
