I’m not sure thats completely fair. You’re acknowledging the fact that Jess had character development, but refuse to see him as a potentially good boyfriend for Rory now, based on how he was prior to his character development. Do you honestly think he’d behave the same way he did when he was 17?

2024-11-28 03:28:19 +0000 UTCI think one of the reasons I'm so drawn to Jess is just how much growth he's shown from the first time he's introduced. I'd argue more than any other character in this show up to this point. Every time we see him after his initial run, he shows more maturity. First he learns to appreciate Luke, then he figures out how to turn his love of books into a career, and now we see him taking fiscal responsibility and actually having friends. And through it all, his humor and wit are still so on-point with the dynamic of the show. I think Rory's chemistry has always been the best with Jess anyway, but more than that, I just love the role Jess plays on the show and how his character develops and interacts with everyone.

2024-11-28 03:14:54 +0000 UTCI get what Joe feels about the couple and all, because there’s always that “what if.” But, unlike what he said, Jess doesn’t make her feel any different. In the end, Rory always wants… Logan.

2024-11-28 01:27:00 +0000 UTCIn the end, she always chooses the boyfriend she cheated on, never Jess. I think what makes it so painful for Jess fans is that there's always this kind of situation, and it's hard to accept that, at the end of the day, the real issue is: Rory doesn’t have feelings for Jess anymore. It doesn’t matter how much people think they’d be perfect together because they have similar interests—Rory just doesn’t love Jess.

2024-11-28 01:24:50 +0000 UTCI disagree that it’s supposed to be Rory and Jess. Jess is too good for her at this point. Maybe Jess suits an idealized version of Rory, but not this one. Also, this artsy poet scene isn’t really Rory. Rory has a little bit of Emily in her. She didn’t hate being in the DAR, and she even refused to quit during the infamous fight. Rory is more journalist at this point. When’s the last time she read a novel for fun? How would Jess really do at Friday Night Dinners? Luke struggles with that part of Lorelai’s life, but so does Lorelai. Rory doesn’t.

2024-11-27 16:00:36 +0000 UTCI struggle to feel sorry for Jess in this episode, he did the same thing in season 2 as Rory is doing now. He used a girl to make Rory jealous when she was with Dean. I do love his character development with paying Luke back and everything but I hate that they try and act like Jess is this perfect guy for Rory when he was a terrible boyfriend.

2024-11-27 13:54:23 +0000 UTCI’ve always thought this whole field trip thing was weird. The contest was one day, the first day. Then they spend 9 days just kind of driving around going places that aren’t really all that far from Connecticut. But I think they just wanted Luke and April out of Stars Hollow and alone for a bit to bond?

2024-11-27 12:40:08 +0000 UTCI think Rory is so hypocritical in this episode. Like, she’s accusing Logan of cheating on her even though she got back with him and acted like everything was fine. Meanwhile, she’s trying to use Jess to cheat on her boyfriend on purpose, knowing full well Jess still has feelings for her. And then she goes on this whole victim rant like, “Oh, look at all the harm he’s done to me.” Seriously, just stop. I get that she’s upset with Logan—it’s a messy situation—but if that’s how she feels, she shouldn’t have gotten back with him. Just break up already and don't put Jess through this.

2024-11-27 12:33:35 +0000 UTCThe third guy is Robert. Remember the Tarantino episode? He was Rory's date for Tarantino night.

2024-11-27 12:18:28 +0000 UTCWell, I agree, Rory should tell Logan instead of doing the passive aggressive dance. Any idea where she might have learned that? Hm....
