i know the shooting is the big talking point for this ep for most people but the kirsten alcoholism storyline is so so good. especially upon a rewatch, you start to notice that shes had an iffy relationship to alcohol throughout the whole series. I think kelly rowan was amazing in this ep. the way her face just crumples after the ryan/seth one-two punch and you can see her resolve break. so good. and all the things with her character or with kirsten and sandy's relationship that have felt unresolved or unaddressed, this kind of makes you go like "oh. thats where all that went"

When the bullet hits him he's shocked, then he realizes what's just happened, then turns to look at Marissa like "Are you serious? I can't believe you just shot me". He looks betrayed and scared, then lets out almost like a chuckle like wow, she really shot me. This is what it's come to. Then passes out. Here Logan 💐 And for Mischa too 💐

Also the scene itself and all that’s at stake and all that led up to it is pretty intense and sad. When I saw this it made me tear up because all the 3 parties involved have already been through so much and I thought if Trey dies from this how would Marissa live with this? How would Ryan? There’s just so much at stake now. Again, appreciate your explanation and shedding a light on the context of this beyond the meme!

I am soo sorry it ever became a meme because every reactor has the same reaction to the scene now, they burst out laughing because the song became a meme and people know the skit. But it wasn't funny at all at the time. The scene was dramatic and intense and sad. I never found the song funny. Because it's not. It's literally the same song (hide and seek by Imogen Heap) that was playing in the beginning of the episode during the funeral. You commented on it. The song starts out calm and it keeps building up until it finally she sings the mmm whatcha say. It's a great song and it's pretty emotional. So yeah I'm sad it became a meme and I'm sad people aren't able to appreciate the scene the way it originally was. People forget to think and talk about what just happened. I get why, I just don't like it 🥲 But I'm glad you liked the episode!
