Darcy’s main storyline for this season (besides the whole moving in with grandma thing) has already been introduced bit by bit, but I assume you didn’t really catch that because you were talking practically every time it came up during each of the first four episodes. /nm /neu The most noteworthy development so far is that they said they were trying out they/them pronouns at the Halloween party :)

Nick and Charlie don't originally stem from the comics, but actually from the book Solitaire, which is about Tori. And the book is Tori dealing with a bunch of changes in family and friends, starting right after her brother gets back from a psychiatric clinic. Heartstopper, the story of how Nick and Charlie met, was made after because of how much Alice and fans loved Nick and Charlie. In Solitaire, Charlie is admitted after a suicide attempt. Then it was changed in the comic to Charlie being admitted after his parents have to take him to A&E after self-harming (though not said specifically to be a suicide attempt). And then in the show, they mention him relapsing, but make it more of Charlie's decision. I think Alice, the author/writer, still wanted to tell the story without the graphic scenes of Solitaire included. There is another scene in a future episode that they changed a bit, which was originally very graphic in Solitaire.
