I don't mind them, especially Sookie without Jackson, but it's fun to rewatch and see a scene with them and think "OMG Joe will lose it here" :))

2024-08-31 11:08:02 +0000 UTCI think Richard looked at Rory and thought oh my god she shouldn’t be here, this isn’t her life kind of thing, she can do so much more at Yale etc

2024-08-30 23:40:17 +0000 UTCThe distaste towards Sookie & Jackson gets funnier each reaction tbh I never really enjoyed them on screen either 😂

2024-08-30 21:23:38 +0000 UTCI think Lorelai was being sincere that she had noticed that Luke, who normally hates shopping and hates anything town themed had been so earnest in wanting to go to those things… I can see why she would feel a little insecure that maybe he was forgoing things that he really liked just to make her happy and so she didn’t want him to feel like he couldn’t still be Camping Luke.

2024-08-29 22:45:39 +0000 UTCLook at the end: I think this was the first time Richard has actually seen Rory full DAR mode and I think now that he understands why she left Yale, he’s disappointed because he wants more for her. Or what he considers as more

2024-08-29 22:44:17 +0000 UTCKirk’s interpretive dance is iconic!! I think Lorelei was being sincere with Luke. Her watching him at Sookie and Jackson’s was her appreciating him putting up with her outings but also feeling like he deserves to do what he wants. Richard’s look at the end hits me in the feels every time. I think it shows how much he loves Rory and also regret that he allowed her to get off the path so much. We know Emily was in similar pain when Lorelei moved out at 16 but in my imagination, I feel like Richard probably had that same look of sadness when it happened too.

2024-08-28 21:21:25 +0000 UTCEmily vs Shira Huntzberger is one of the two Emily scenes I’ve been wanting you to see since I discovered your love for Emily in season 1.

2024-08-28 19:16:39 +0000 UTCThe look at the end was richards disappointment in rory going down Emily's lifestyle. Considering emily is a corporate housewife, Richard has never seen what she does in the home or at events as real work so he's mourning the consequences of his choices in allowing rory to leave yale and live with them.

2024-08-28 18:34:53 +0000 UTCLOL, your screams in between almost got louder than the "turn the volume down!", which made you miss a vegetable reference, not that it matters. :) I was waiting for you to watch the QUEEN EMILY moment, yesss! And Richard was quite strong here, too. As for Lorelai, I think it could be a mix, ie, her genuinely wanting Luke to take some time for himself, but also navigating the closeness/distance thing for herself, too. It's a constant dance, after all. ❤️

2024-08-28 18:30:13 +0000 UTCThe teardown by Emily is one of my favorite scenes of the season. She is the ultimate queen of ripping people to shreds with a smile that devastates whomever is on the receiving end. On a side note, Lorelei honestly just felt guilty about Luke spending all his downtime doing things he used to absolutely hate ( he never was into town events and let's be honest, he's not a shopper ) to spend time with her. I always saw it as her not wanting him to lose himself in the relationship. The look on Richard's face at the end was the realization that Lorelei told them the truth and they went against her, chose to believe the Hamburgers instead of her and helped Rory lose her way. In my opinion anyway. Great reaction! Keep up the great work 💜

2024-08-28 18:08:18 +0000 UTCFirst of all, how dare Gilmore Girls make me miss 90% of Kirk’s performance. I need the extended scene of that asap lol. & I love the look on Richard’s face at the end & that little arm drop he does. It’s like he instantly realized how lost Rory is now & all he’s doing is enabling her.

2024-08-28 18:03:46 +0000 UTCRichard finally realizing he done fucked up! that was that look at the end. The conversation he had with Mitchem confirmed Lorelai was right and when he was trying to find out what Rory had read lately realizing she hasn't read anything and her time is filled with frivolous party planning, which is fine for Emily, but Rory deserves more (in Richard's mind).

2024-08-28 17:58:37 +0000 UTCI honestly think Richards look on his face was that of sadness and regret to have confirmation that what Lorelai said was true. So I believe he was looking at her at how stoic she is being, after being "crushed" to get back up and pull off an event like that! Keep in mind, we all feel things differently. What he said to Rory destroyed her. If he'd said that to me, I'd have laughed, flipped him off, then proved him wrong by making it big!

2024-08-28 17:24:37 +0000 UTCLorelai really did mean what she said. She didn’t want to be one of “those women” whose partners completely lost themselves. She was afraid she was being selfish.

2024-08-28 17:21:12 +0000 UTC1. I knew you would be miserable through the entire TURN IT DOWN DAVEY scene and I was dying 2. I remember Just Shoot Me being hilarious. Granted I was in middle school so I’m not sure how the humor aged but it was one of the good NBC shows back then 3. I think Richard is seeing how much Rory isn’t being Rory and has kind of lost herself and realized he should have been making an effort to get her back on the Yale path instead of the hostess Emily path
