Aw ❤️

Yasemin

Some people are really mean and want to fight all the time so thank you so much for respecting my opinion💕

Inna

Sure, no problem with your opinion :)

Yasemin

Also I am sorry for this long message😭 If you don’t want to read it all I completely understand💕 I honestly didn’t think it was going to be THIS big 🥲

I do think Lorelai said that in pure anger, and because Rory had just told her the news, Lorelai knew it was because of that one comment. However, I also think that Rory knew Lorelai didn’t mean it and that Lorelai would 1000% let her stay with her. But because Rory didn’t have a plan or money and didn’t really want to work, she went to Richard and Emily and started crying. I think she did that because she knew they adored her and wanted her as their 'child,' so she knew they would help her out and give her all the money she needed, allowing her not to worry or make a plan for her future just yet. And it worked, I guess. I also think that she acted like a child (which she is not anymore; she’s almost 21). I understand that she grew up in a town where everyone loved and adored her, so she didn’t take that comment very well. But she’s a smart girl and knows that not everyone is going to like her all the time (a lot of characters in the show also didn’t like her, and that didn’t seem to upset her that much). So even though I understand that she was hurt, I also think she was acting like a child. I totally understand why Lorelai didn’t really talk to Rory; she wanted Rory to have a chance to learn from her mistakes and realize that life is not that easy and that she cannot get everything served on a plate. That’s what I think Rory expected to happen after she ‘quit’ Yale, and honestly, it did, because she moved in with her grandparents. Maybe it wasn’t the best choice, but I completely understand why Lorelai decided to do that. I also really think that Rory knew Lorelai didn’t mean what she said about not living with her and that she knew Lorelai would take her back. However, Rory also knew that Richard and Emily wouldn’t make her work that hard and would give her everything she wanted, allowing her to pretend she was a grown-up with her life figured out or whatever. After all, this is just my opinion, and I respect people who disagree with me. I understand where Rory is coming from and where people who agree with her are coming from, but I’m just not one of them, so I hope you all also respect my opinion.❤️

Preferences vary, I suppose. :)

I don’t hate her but I 10000% think she is not a very likeable character.

Someone pointed out (but I can't find the comment now, maybe it's been deleted) how Lorelai said "coming back home is not an option" in anger and would have taken Rory back had she asked. Fair point. However, I also think L involuntarily pushed Rory towards moving in with Emily and Richard at the time, and it might not be easy for Rory to just ask her mom at this point, because that was hurtful to her as well (ie, who wants to hear that from their own mom, that they are not welcome to live with her unless they do as she says?). Also, at this point she is hurt because L did not tell her about the engagement. And no, I do not think Rory "acted like a 4 year old". She was raised in this ultra-protected environment, constantly praised and in a way, not ready for "the real world", so to speak. Mitchum telling her she "didn't have it", was a huge deal to her at that point in time, and so she wanted to take a break from Yale (and she was very confused). Let's also not forget she is just 20 (ie, very, very young). A less harsh reaction from Lorelai (again, with boundaries but not withdrawing all support) could have led to a different development.

Yasemin

I don't get the Rory hate. Never ever hated her. :)

Yasemin

Yes to the Paris love this EP!

Yasemin

And it's more of what Lorelai did to help get her there, to that point, and it just comes across as ungrateful

Joe

It’s quite clear that Logan is disappointed in this turn of events for Rory, but he also respects her as someone who can make her own decisions

i feel like the people who criticize lorelai for not supporting rory dropping out of yale forget the fact that she literally put a day of thought into it. it was so irresponsible of rory

d

The reason Lorelai said, no to Rory being at home with no plan, is because she had no plans. If she had some clue as to what she was going to do, she wouldn't of been so harsh with it, but no. What kills me is she jumped the gun big time. If she had just finished her final, then told her mom she didn't think she wanted to go back, she could of taken the summer to try her hand at different jobs, read up on other courses to see if anything jumped out at her, and then if she was still not ready, decide to take time off. But to announce it at the start of summer was just stupid.

I get people find Rory’s storyline to be a bit bland & boring right now but I think it’s pretty interesting to see her kinda almost living the life Emily wanted for Lorelai. Joining the DAR, dating a rich guy from a ‘proper’ family & not pursuing her own career. Also, I’ll hear no Paris slander from anyone! I don’t hate Sookie like you lol but Paris is a thousand times better. No question. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hope

I love when Luke takes care of Paul Anka, so sweet.
