2024-07-18 17:59:20 +0000 UTCDisagree, him doing that to her was still not right, I think saying ”guts can be wrong” was just him trying to seem like he’s not a bad guy, not only is he the a big name in the business but also her boyfriends dad and there is a way to give feedback to help someone improve and not just telling them they don’t have it after she has had like 2 days of experiense even being in a real workplace, she will either learn to be good at the job or go a different way but nothing good will come out of him just telling her that she’s not good enough

The reality is that Rory is an introvert interested in a very extroverted field. That's not to say she can't succeed, but her personality is a bit of a mismatch. Even with the internship, she's never made an effort thus far to seek something like this out on her own. She doesn't really mingle outside her comfort zone. It just doesn't bode well for someone who'd need to dig and pry to get a good story.

"i've always done what's asked of me," is the same attitude she had in chilton - "i get good grades, isn't that enough?". im excited to see you watch the rest of her journey. surprisingly she is/becomes the most divisive character in the show for the fandom.

2024-07-17 19:26:49 +0000 UTCPeople disagree, but I really think Mitchum was giving his honest assessment. Rory is very good at doing as she’s told, but she struggles when thinking outside the box. She struggled coming up with her own stories until the Life and Death Brigade fell in her lap. She’s good at school and very well read, but a journalist? In 2005 as the industry was changing massively due to the economy and new technology? I think Mitchum really wanted her to show obvious promise. It’s no secret that Logan doesn’t give a crap about the family business, but he started dating a young woman who does. I think in his mind Logan would be the figurehead with wife Rory running things behind the scenes. Then, his legacy is secure and his wife can just lump it. But what he got was someone with a different personality that he doesn’t think is suited to the job. Even Jess thought it was a little rough for her.
