How have I never realized it’s the teacher from Dawson creek!? Omg 😂

No need to wait for you to like Sookie, it’s not gonna happen! I don’t really like her either actually. But for your own enjoyment sake maybe you could focus on what the other characters do. I mean, Luke was so good and sweet this ep and he stood up to Sookie. Maybe it’s possible to enjoy that - having a “shared enemy” in Sookie with Luke?😜 Because this ep for me is easily a 9/10 even with me hating on Sookie.
I get it with Jackson, his scenes brings nothing to the table! But Sookie at least brought a lot of good with Luke, even though she’s annoying… :)

Love how you recognize how different Logan is from Jess (in a good way)

And Logan's family is a good storyline too, it's like seeing Emily's house it from Luke and Deans perspectives. Great

This ep was so good! The Rory and Logan storyline is so good, Luke and Lorelai are great. Only the scene with Jackson was annoying. It's a shame you did not enjoy it. Sookie and Jackson was so little. i wish it didnt bother you so much that it distracts from a great Gilmore episode

Well... I love rory and logan, but we know exactly why they will get so much hate. Still, Logan is easily the best boyfriend rory had.

LOL, I totally get why you don’t like Sookie and Jackson. Most fans seem to like Sookie because she’s well-meaning and bubbly, but as a character, she’s pretty average and doesn’t add much to the story. Honestly, if you don’t like her by now, you probably never will because that’s all she brings to the table. I totally agree with you on Jackson and Taylor. They’re the worst, and their screen time is just wasted. Imagine if we had more of Kirk, Paris, and Lane instead? That would be way more fun.
About Rory’s story... Logan’s family is awful, but I’m glad you can see how Logan is someone willing to stand by Rory.

I really love this episode actually, Rory and Logan are great, Paris and Doyle too and I really like seeing luke working at the inn even if sookie ruins it a little haha

I really wish it was Luke and Lorelai who opened the inn together. Not only would he of been a more reliable partner (to be honest Michel would of made a better choice than Sookie. He's just a manager so it makes sense he's not as invested in things running well, but I think if Lorelai had asked him to be her partner, he'd of jumped at the chance!) but Back to Luke! Luke would of helped way more than what Sookie contributed. Sookie was only interested when it came to the cooking stuff and even said as much when she totally forgot about her meeting about the sinks, and cost Lorelai money as they had to send them back or something. She's a good cook, but clumsy, unreliable and a terrible business partner! Did Sookie even invest in it? I don't remember? OR was it all Lorelai and her loan from Luke?

Yeah but Sookie assured her she could do the business stuff as well as the cooking. Lorelai second guessed it back in S2, when Mia was so sure and ready to sell, she realised the minute they left the Independence inn, they'd be out on their own and couldn't just go back if it failed. So she was hesitant to go forward, until Sookie said that was just fear and that they could do it. She assured Lorelai they were BOTH ready for this next chapter and it's almost entirely been Lorelai doing everything but the food. I used to like Sookie and Jackson, but I'm noticing a LOT more this time around and definitely get why Joe isn't a fan of them.

Love Logan and Rory in this episode. He saw her value and decided to commit to her despite it not being their plan and then he stood up for her to his family. And he got spooked but immediately realized his mistake and apologized. Quality boyfriend behavior

Logan is, by far, the best boyfriend Rory has in the show. He’s not perfect but I don’t understand all the hate he gets from fans.

To be fair I’m pretty sure everyone tries their best to forget that entire plot in Dawson’s Creek haha.
Spoiler: At least in Gilmore Girls she gets her ass handed to her by Emily.

I agree to some extent, but I think it accurately reflects the hard parts of going into business with friends. They are both incredibly self-involved AND quirky, but beneath all of Lorelei's quirkiness is extreme competence whereas Sookie's competence is almost entirely in her cooking. Lorelei did know that, though, so while frustrating, she did sort of put herself in the situation. It's realistic! And annoying! LOL

I actually love this episode mostly because of the DRAMA lol but given your intense hatred of Jackson and Sookie, I probably should’ve figured you wouldn’t be into it 🤣
Logan’s family is the absolute worst but I do love how he handled it—told them all the fuck off basically and left. And I like that you noticed that he just took a bit to clear his head and came right back to Rory to explain how he was feeling. You’re 100% right, Jess would never lol
I actually found the Sookie/Luke stuff funny and cute but I’ve always found their interactions fun!

I wouldn't mind but the Sookie stuff was genuinely about 35% of this episode aha!

sad you didnt like this episode more, i think the rory logan stuff is gold so its one of my favs (then again so is like every ep from s5 so im biased) but ur comparisons of the huntzburgers and emily and richard is spot on. even as an avid dean hater, its hard to ignore how huge of a parallel this ep was to how emily and richard acted with dean when he was with rory in the earlier seasons, specifically the ep where he came to dinner and richard just talked shit and diminished him the whole time. also, logans reaction is perfect to me its soo realistic and to me shows how much he cares about rory esp because this is his first ever relationship and he immedietly stood up for rory and pretty much told his family to fuck off, but you could see afterwards that it just spooked him a little i mean first relationship ever and everyone is already talking about her marrying him and how she wouldnt be a "suitable" wife like thats insane so i really dont blame him for shutting down immedietly but the fact that he came back so quickly to apologize js speaks volumes. dean and jess would NEVER

Oh wow. I thought you'd really like this one lol, but I guess I forgot to factor in your hatred of Jackson and Sookie :). Also, whilst commenting, you missed Lorelai asking Luke about the recipe, not that it matters lol.

i actually really like sookie, but, unpopular opinion—i think lorelai deserves a lot better than what she gets from her as a business partner. sookie has been consistently unreliable throughout the entire dragonfly project and often doesn’t follow through on what she says. lorelai and sookie are supposed to be co owners, but it’s undeniable that lorelai carries the weight of the operation. i can’t believe people have the audacity to say lorelai is the one who doesn’t treat her well too 😭😭
