Besides him as head of the family missing Francescas wedding, it would be dangerous to travel to india. not only the long journey and sea travel always dangerous but in the books a main character you dont know yet travelled to India and got Malaria there, just as an example. I get they came up with it to get rid of Anthony and Kate probably because the actors scedule but have them go to Aubrey Hall
