He knows Lorelai struggles to trust him and Emily, so why the hell would he further damage that trust by ousting her boyfriend that she clearly cares about. Jason was on Richard's side when Floyd fed him to the wolves. Richard should of had his back.

Marriage is different than dating (and to be honest, it’s not the best when dating either.) Dean was never the most academically inclined. The trades are good work for good pay. Better than a general studies degree from Directional Connecticut State. Also who would you vote for, if you had to choose: Jackson or Taylor?
