also there are 5 Percy Jackson books that came out from 2005-2009, a 6th book that came out at the end o last year and then there are the 4 follow up series of 5 and 3 books (16 books total). 1 of the follow up series directly follows up the main series with added pov characters, one is about norse gods, one about egyptian gods and the last one is about the god Apollo who gets punished and turned into a normal demigod. there also several side books about percy telling greek legends or mini storys. i love the books. funny and a good read

2024-01-27 20:19:46 +0000 UTCthe thing which annoys me the most about the shoe apart from the pacing and lack of tension is that they (Percy, Annabeth and Grover but especially Percy cause its logical that Annabeth would know more than him just because of her mother and her and Grover being a part of that world for longer) know everything. Every monster or threat they encouter they know about. which is "unlogical" (if thats the right word for a fictional wold) and again takes away tension. Like here at the beginning with Crusty, or the Lotus casino where they knew its a trap still go in though, Medusa. the only monster which they didnt figure out immediately was Echidna and the chimera. Not sure why they would mention Kronus already as he came up as a plot twist in the 2nd book but i knda see it for cinematic reasons as you paint a bigger picture and tease the bigger thread with that
