It was actually his Mum's phone. Chuck said to Jamie in the tractor that his Mum let him borrow her phone for the trip and said they could make prank calls because everyone would think it was his mum. So he just had his Mum's phone. And Lauren would have her number for both the reason you said, and also because she's his teacher. :)

And you might not remember but before Chase, Lauren babysat Chuck often so it would make sense that she would have his number. We’ve seen that his mom isn’t reliable so I’m sure she’s had to communicate directly with him instead of his mom.
