It's so apparent that the way Randall has acted with Rebecca his whole life is instinctual to him. Her making Kate the decider and apologizing to him for him always supporting her must feel so confusing because he literally knows no other way of being. Rebecca is a great mom, so it makes sense that he is so grateful but he's spent so long being grateful that his natural response is to put her feelings first, both tragic and beautiful in a way. Episodes like this stand out to me, it was so soft and endearing with not much drama going on, just highlighting the complicated dynamic between mother and son (on the other hand I'm excited for the next episode which is just utter chaos)
