2023-05-16 19:01:50 +0000 UTCI really love the Chuck and Chase storyline. It really did come out of nowhere, but it's so good! Chuck has always clearly had problems, they made MULTIPLE comments about his Mum being an alcoholic all the way back to when he was first introduced picking on Jamie (Dan told Jamie "You should tease him about his alcoholic Mother.") So it's nice to finally have that be addressed properly with Chase helping him out and being there for him. And that reveal that his Mum had been passed out drunk in the back all day and that was the reason Chase kept going back there, to check on her, all while keeping it from Chuck because he didn't want him to have to see his Mum like that. And I love that Chase can see right through him whenever he brags about his Dad in some way, Chase can just see that it's because he misses him and it's really great. :) Naley are just amazing as always though. I love that first scene with them in the bathroom, how it totally contrasts to the other couples. We have Brooke and Julian who are newlyweds and instantly having sex and all that, then there's Clay and Quinn who have been together a couple years showering together and also having sex. Then there's Naley, who have been married since High School and they just show how in sync they are with how they reach round each other to get things, they talk about Jamie, and they're just so domestic and you can just tell that they've been married a long time. And then to end it off with Nathan setting up the perfect little date in bed and getting Haley Ho-Hos because that's what she's been craving throughout the pregnancy. And him just being totally ready for her moodswings and all that. I just love them! And I totally agree about the Brulian thing when they were doing the student/teacher stuff... Changing who was the teacher and who was the student DOES NOT make it any better and it was still weird and creepy. (But I am glad that Brooke was able to recognise that Julian pretending to be her teacher was creepy, it means she's likely come to that realisation about her relationship with her teacher back in S4...) Jamie and Madison are ADORABLE though! I love them! Their presents were just perfect. They got each other things they could use that they knew the other would like. They didn't need to spend loads of money or anything, they just got each other what they thought they'd like, and they were both happy with their gifts. And then them both having one of the shoelaces each is just so cute! The joys of being a child. :) Sidenote, I really love that the show actually gave Jamie his own storylines away from the adult characters, and his own friendships. A lot of shows that bring a child into the later seasons when two characters have a kid just treat the child like a prop or extension of the other characters, but with Jamie he actually feels like his own character with his own life and interests and friends.
