JUst that you know the dagger Rebekah wanted to use on Kol would have kept him in a dead like state as long as the dagger was in his heart but the white oak stake Kol had would have actually killed Rebekah instantly like it was with Mikeal -> burned to ashes so there is a huge difference there Stake means permant, lasting death while dagger is more like a pause button
