Sorry for so many comments ... I've never read the Vampire diaries books but i know they are very different. Starts at stuff like character looks (Elena/Katherine being blonde with blue eyes, Caroline brunette, Bonnie being white, red hair and not from salem witches but from druids), Stefan is Stefano, Jenna is Judith, Jeremy doesnt exist Elena has a young sister called Margaret .... just to begin with
