I love the time jump, teen shows have done college to death and not much new you can do with it. This enabled all new story still with chance for flashbacks. Also allowed the cast to play closer to their actual ages which was good. We do see Deb this season but, not til later as Barbara was on maternity leave in between Seasons 4 and 5.
