You're right, Joey is pretty much the only friend with a decent relationship with his parents. Ross would be at a close second as their parents like him more than Monica generally.

A lot of the time Mothers are more critical of their daughters because they kinda project onto them more. Whereas they're easier on their sons. At least in TV shows that I've seen... Haha
