SMG was actually crying during the scene before they reset everything. At one point, you can actually hear Boreanaz call her "Sarah" because he was trying to comfort her

Also, I agree: I don't get Angel's logic at all, and I think Buffy was ultimately right in saying that he just couldn't hack being a regular Joe (sorry) and not being able to go off and fight demons himself. He, Cordy and Doyle could have all gone to live in Sunnydale to join Buffy's fight. But whatever! Still a great ep and I'm glad it went the way it did because I prefer the Buffy series without Angel in it.
