I've only seen the Angel series about 3 times so I'm not as familiar with it as I am with BTVS, but I think you might be watching the HD version based on your comment about seeing someone's arm in the frame? The HD versions of both shows are notorious for gaffs like that, because they weren't filmed in widescreen but the HD version is in widescreen, meaning the crew can actually be seen in some shots :_; Plus apparently the HD version has lighting issues, so some scenes look brighter than they're meant to (which, on this show especially, creates many issues because Angel is, ya know, a vampire).
