This is my favorite episode of the show, L’s death of course was sad and if it brings you comfort in the manga L does say “I Knew it” before he dies. So I think L always knew. From the start of the episode it has this sense of dread and it continues through the episode. The imagery is beautiful and yes I believe the foot washing scene is reference to the Bible when Jesus would wash the feet of his disciples. Including the one who would ultimately betray him. The show has always been heavy with Christian symbolism but it’s really apparent in this episode. I love the rain scene, I feel like that was the closest Kira and L actually were in terms of Kira showing his true self. Not quite but closest that L has gotten. As for the future episodes, I personally love the last half it’s I think better than the yotsuba ark but not as good as the first ark. the problem mainly I have is it feels a bit rushed mostly when introducing it but if you can give it a chance there is a lot to love in the last arc some crazy epic moments and characters! I’m sure you will go in open minded you are always great at that so I’m super excited! Also I know it’s a bit of an odd request but there is a deleted scene called “L’s Funeral” that was released separately you can find it on YouTube but I really think you should watch it. Even if you don’t react to it it’s okay but it’s kind of a disturbing scene that’s worth watching. The next episode as well is pretty much a recap episode. Nothing new happens it just goes over the events so far so it’s kinda meh but once you get past it the rest of the show is great.
