For all the testing I did you'd think the final design would be drastically different (mesh aside), but nope! I ultimately ended up going back to an earlier version and just tweaked it, realizing that what had urked me so much was the positioning of the iris's. So I moved them to face more inwardly and that definately removed alot of the "10 yard stare" vibes I was getting. I ended up also redesigning the iris's themselves a total of 7 times. Altogether I'm not even sure how many pairs of test eyes and mesh combinations I made over the past few days but it was ALOT.
That said with the eyes finally made, to mostly our satisfaction, I went ahead and finished sewing and glueing down the lining. Now we just need to sort out the ears and the head will be ready to fur! I'm just waiting for some feedback from the client regarding the ears and we'll be good to go.
Given how many eyes I drew and redrew over the past few days I was thinking of releasing them as a printable eye pack as this month's monthly patreon bonus. What do you folks think? Is that something that would be of interest to you?
