Stil Alive
Added 2024-11-01 13:14:28 +0000 UTCI am about a week post now and I got my drains and catheter removed yesterday. Now that they are gone my pain is lessened and I'm more mobile. Still having trouble sitting for more than 10 minutes at a time. But I am feeling a lot more human. I was even able to shower and dress myself this morning, which was a huge victory, but it took most of my stamina.
I think the incision on my leg is my leg is around 20" long, if not longer. Its in a |_| shape, so its not one continous line for those who are curious. The sutures are super neat, both Jamie and I are super impressed with how clean it looks. I have no sensation on the left side of incision, its completely numb, while the right side is hypersensative and will burn when my muscles get tired.
I had some complications where I developed a fever, and broke out in hives all over my body. We still aren't sure what I reacted to, but the hives are slowly going away. The biggest issue I have is my inability to sit, meaning we have to stay here an extra week rather than leaving today as we planned. I do not think I could handle 9hrs of sitting for travel, when I struggle to do 10 minutes.
Anyways I just wanted to make a post publicly so people know that I am alive and well.
