Hey folks! I have not forgotten about you. I'd been still somewhat at a loss regarding this month's Patreon Tutorial, but after getting some suggestions I decided to make a quick tutorial on how to make duct tape patterns over complex shapes like head bases. Which meant whipping up a base in need of patterning. I started on this base last night and had hoped to get a decent amount of furring done for the tutorial. In stead, I spent most of the day bouncing between the head base, the 3D printer we're still struggling to get reliably working, and my sublimation printer, which decided to stop working. I got the latter of which fixed, but it took most of the day.
Having said that, I did get this base taped up and started some of the early furring. I don't think I have enough time to fur the entire head in time to do an in depth Tutorial, so instead, I'll just focus on discussing the techniques I use when patterning heads. I hope to be able to release the tutorial by Tuesday afternoon. I know it's super last minute and hardly anything revolutionary, but I hope it will still be useful.
As for commissions, Zion's DTD had to return shipped due to an issue with customs, so his commission will continue to be on hold until we can get his DTD. As for Cascade, we'd been stuck waiting for supplies to arrive while we tried to get the 3D printer up and running. Fortunately, the materials for her suit arrived yesterday, so as soon as we finish this tutorial, we can get started on her commission while we try to get the printer up and running. Regarding the printer, I think the end is in sight. I don't want to jinx myself by saying that, as I had previously believed we had worked out all the buys, only for more to crop up the moment we tried printing something larger. That said, if our current test print comes out well, we can finally move on to printing the mold for Cascade's head base and restocking our eyes.
