Hey folks! We apologize for the radio silence, we've been swamped with incredibly boring deskwork. Between taxes, our monthly tutorial and taking care of the Kickstarter we haven't had anytime to do any fursuit-making, but the end is in sight! Well, it better be, we have a rush order commission to do for FWA, so look forward to seeing wips of that soon. In the meantime here is this month's tutorial! We went with something super simple and did a tutorial on making Animal Ear Headbands. This was super popular at cons a decade ago, but has slowly fallen out of fashion, and nowadays you don't see anyone selling them, excluding Pawstar of course. So why make this tutorial? A few reasons really, for one we had a few people ask about Ear Headbands at FE and it seemed like a quick and easy tutorial that we could do that would be beginner-friendly. Similarly, I have reason to believe that trend has the potential for a comeback, as people are forced to be more budget-focused with their purchases in this economy. So ear headbands that can be made and sold for dirt cheap are very approachable to new and old furries alike. Funny enough, ear headbands continue to be popular with cosplayers thanks to animal-eared anime characters, which is how Pawstar has continued to remain relevant and thrives at anime cons.
That aside, this tutorial has a no-sew, and sewn option that creates entirely different-looking ears while using the same pattern. We also included a very quick instructional for drybrushing and airbrushing the ears as an optional step.
