UNCUT: Buffy the Vampire Slayer S.2.22 (Season Finale) Reaction

I’m catching up on your Buffy reaction so I’m late, but I use to compare the vampire diaries to Buffy all the time, and you’ll see it more throughout the series but then I did research and tvd books were all actually written in 1991-1992 but Joss Whedon actually originally wrote the 1st Buffy script in 1992 so they were both made around around the same time!

If anyone is interested in a closer look at the themes of Buffy and later Angel, take a look at Passion of the Nerd. He is a youtuber that is reviewing each episode of Buffy and Angel from the beginning with an eye on the overall story arc and themes the show explores, all while avoiding (major) spoilers (but there are some scenes used from future episodes used out of context even if as far as I remember these don't give away future plot). He can be a little wordy but he talks about things I have never noticed before.

Unlike Pretty Little Liars or Teen Wolf, each season of Buffy has a core theme, in a way, that the show tries to explore and different people can connect with them differently (or don't connect at all). The show ages in theme with its characters, so if you watched them all as an adult the later seasons that deal with more themes relevant to adulthood might resonate more, whereas if you started watching Buffy young the early seasons might be the ones that you had the most in common with. For me I really like 6, 7, and 2, but would have a hard time ranking them beyond saying top 3. 3 and 5 are kind of a tie and season 1 and 4 are my least favorite. That being said two of my favorite episodes happen in season 4 so what do I know.

I have to go with 5 as my favourite season. All are amazing seasons. Also, yes the fight choreography in this show is bang on brilliant. It gets better.

My fav season is 5, followed closely by 6. I find it so rare to find shows that just keeps getting better and better as it goes on, one of the many things I love about Buffy!

Season 6 is definitely my favorite season. Its probably the one I’ve rewatched the most. But I also really enjoy 2 and 7.
