This is a really interesting read, now that you're done with these reactions: https://www.tvguide.com/news/netflix-the-society-references-explainer/ It talks about the meanings behind the cultural references in the show, and how they tie into the meaning behind/purpose of the show (exploration of political ideas and the function of human societies). I find the one about Cassandra's name particularly interesting, especially in light of how annoying everyone seemed to find her.
