There's a great article on Twitter that talks about what was planned for S4. I'm prepared for a disappointment, there's just no way they can jam basically an entire season into 2 hours. Got to give props to Mama Lightwood, she saved Malec. And Asmodeus was supposed to be back. Until next week!

2019-05-01 02:02:43 +0000 UTCThe reason the scene between Magnus and Asmodeus (actually almost all of Magnus' scenes) seems so awkward and exposition-y is because it wasn't supposed to happen. This episode was gonna end very differently, and season 4 was gonna include Magnus going a little bit dark side with Asmodeus as the main villain. But when the show got cancelled, they reshot some of this episode to make the series finale easier to wrap up.
