2019-04-17 03:13:27 +0000 UTCasmodeus wanted alec to break things off with magnus because he's magnus' main connection to the mortal world. asmodeus wants magnus to rule edom with him - that's what he meant when he said that so long as they were together magnus would never reach his "full potential".

I agree, the Clary/Jonathan stuff is kind of weak, I hope it picks up in 3x19. Malec...that was just shattering. But, it's always darkest before the dawn, especially in the Shadow World.

The books concentrated on taking Jonathon out because of the Morningstar sword, but the writers thought they would have a 4th season....so.....

And the Malec breakup was so utterly heart wrenching, and the fact that Alec couldn’t give Magnus a REASON so he had to result in just telling him that the part that he fell in love with was now gone, OUCH. This is also the lowest we’ve ever seen Magnus, he now has no home, no job, no powers, and no Alec, he’s has NOTHING anymore
