It's funny, The Guru is probably one of my top episodes of the series, mostly for Aang's story but also Toph's metalbending moment (Guru Pathik narrating over that with the animation and the music...so awesome), but like you say, everyone is different, and it's super interesting to see what episodes you enjoy the most. I look forward to seeing your take on Season 3!
