I believe the creators confirmed that Jet is dead. I think this was the best they could do since Nickelodeon limited them on how close to death they could get.

2019-03-15 00:26:51 +0000 UTCThe iroh and Zuko scene is one of my all time favorite scenes of the series. When I think about this show that is one of the scenes that always stands out. That and the series finale. Zuko and Iroh are my top 2 characters and that scene and how it played out is one of the reasons. You're right that Zuko still has an important journey for his development and he doesn't always make the right choices in the future but this is a HUGE mile stone for him. I love this episode so much.

This episode is easy to forget in the grand scheme of things. Though i will say it's a great episode, so will the rest of the fans
