UNCUT: Avatar the Last Airbender S.2.13 Reaction

FYI, Azula is 14. Although her makeup does make her look like a late teen / early adult. She also doesn't act like a 14 year old but in most shows young characters act much older than what they are supposed to be. Also you somewhat know the Firelord's personality by now, so you can imagine Azula's daily life and how that would affect one's personality.

idk why people specifically hyped this episode, cause like you said, aside from the fight scene, there really wasn't much going on and i actually find this episode a bit dull compared to others, aside from the ending. But personal taste, of course. I think the previous episode was one of my favorites of the season. Ba Sing Se is my favorite setting of the show, i love it so much. It's so beautiful. I think there are two types of avatar fans. Those who love the character stories and those who love the action sequences (not just two types of fans, ofc but that's kind of the louder fans. There are middle ones, but people usually lean towards one). So i think the action fans didn't like last episode cause it was very centered around the characters and their personal lives or romances, etc. And I happen to enjoy those stories the most. I'm not a big action person. I love avatar more for the characters than the action.

haha don't sweat the ratings, most of us are just here to rewatch the series with someone new. a little personal bias in the ratings is nice, you don't have to match imdb or whatever. i was surprised you didn't like s2e11 as much, that was one of my favorites. but it's interesting to see what you liked/didn't like

Don't think he will give next episode a 9+ (the episode is quite slow in some parts)

I love the fight between Azula and Aang one of my favorites. Also I think you're sometimes looking at the episodes the wrong way plus you've probably been overhyped by some episodes. Get ready for the next episode it will change things!

Glad you enjoyed the episode. :) I'm not a huge fan of this eipode, but I think it does a good job at showing how the group works as a team in which each role is important. Aang needed Sokka to come up with the plan and Katara and Toph to build up the pressure. They're just as relevant to the success as he is; it's not a "He's the chosen one, so it's all about him" narrative.
