Personally I love him, but it wasnt until after season one that he started to be really likable to me. The script in general becomes less cringe when you finish s1, but I think especially xander becomes a little less forced with the comedy once the writers have kind of gotten on their feet a bit. I personally think the later seasons have the most realism in the dialogue, but the first few seasons have a lot of lines that arent super good but still manage to be funny

2019-01-14 21:26:23 +0000 UTCI used be a fan of plot of the week type shows growing up but, as saw more and more linear I became more into those. I feel like most of those type of shows works better for animated shows (expect for the amazing Avatar, which occasionally does that too) and comedies.

2019-01-14 20:41:22 +0000 UTCWow! A 6 for the She-Mantis episode? The good news is most fans think this is one of the worst episodes of the show, so it's great that you still found it enjoyable. And like others have said the show typically does a good job of making the monster of the week episodes still feel relevant to the main plot or to the growth of the characters. I personally feel like a bad Buffy episode is equivalent to an average PLL episode and an average one is equivalent to a good PLL.

2019-01-14 19:55:41 +0000 UTCI know this isn't a great episode (imo the worst of Season 1) but it was my favourite reaction of yours so far :) The sass was real. Buffy is my favourite character of all time, so I'm glad you like her so much! Other reactors seem to prefer other characters in the show so I never feel like she gets enough love. And yeah, this season is heavily monster of the week - I won't lie, there are monster of the week episodes later on in the show too, but they run alongside the main villain, rather than every episode being a standalone. I'm not a fan of those kind of shows either, so I totally get your concern.
