This felt like getting my Heart ripped out of my chest and then being forced to watch it get stabbed to death in front of me 🫠

Arcane Season 2 Episode 6 Reaction Edited

This episode was just incredible, and I’m still not fully over everything that’s happened. Loved getting some lore and info on Noxius and it’s good to know that this isn’t just Ambessa’s way of life, but basically there is an entire Empire that works like she does; the sacrifice emphasis is done so well and perfectly captures why she’s such a strong threat and captures a lot about her story, she’s willing to lose some fights to gain the upper hand so what exactly has she willingly lost to continue this fight. Rictus put up such a good fight, may he rest in peace after getting ripped a part. Seeing Viktor again feels so weird and surreal, it feels like he’s been absent for so long and when we finally see him, he’s changed so much. It really is awesome to see how he’s changed the worst part of the Undercity for the better as it really brings us back to his roots and almost symbolises himself in this way, a product of the Undercity made into ‘perfection’. Loved him, Vi and Jinx interacting as it’s so easy to forget they’re from the same place so seeing this was weird but also so cool that they finally met. But then his monologue with Singed was the cherry on top of this episode as it sets up everything to come, somehow Singed really is defining the direction of this show and now even Viktor agrees with him which marks the turning point for this character, going from this benevolent figure to someone stained by Singed. Also the visual for this episode were top tier and while I think it felt odd first off, it’s just breathtaking now, This show just doesn’t miss when it comes to this stuff and now I’m so excited to see how this stuff will change as Viktor changes. Oh wow, it’s quite surprising that they took the existing character and changed them so drastically and even changed them in the game to fit the show, that does put my expectations very high by just thinking about that being well received when I think typically when that sort of thing is attempted it leads to backlash. I figured the ‘Glorious Evolution’ line had to be something big, it’s far to good of a title/idea to be meaningly and thinking about Viktor’s story as a whole, it’s the perfect direction of his character as he’s extremely and constantly trying to fix things and make things better, forever chasing perfection. Oohhh more fun details about Noxus! It’s so cool that not only the Empire is embodied by these principles, but it’s actually headed by three figures who embody them even more. I’ve heard there’s meant to be a Noxus show in the works and all of this is making me so excited for it!!

Finally got the time to watch this and what a great episode it is. Already starting strong with some world building as Ambessa introduces the Noxian core principles. Vision, Might and Guile. Also love her own fourth principle, Sacrifice, emphasized by her taking a hit to her cheek in order to get Caitlyn into an easily subduable position in their sparring match. R.I.P. Rictus, what a great if swift fight scene he provided with Jinx before his end. Loved seeing Viktor after him being so absent from this season so far. He has turned the worst dank corner of Zaun into a paradise but at what cost? Seeing the "cosmic" side, the way he sees was awesome and the scene of him and Skye diving into Warwick's mind in search for Vander, followed by the memory scene was pure art. Despite being from the Undercity, we mostly saw Viktor in Piltover in season 1 so seeing him interact with Vi and Jinx feels odd yet pleasant. His conversation with Singed was great, with Viktor quickly shooting down Singed's philosophy on the matter, only for it to be proven correct (in his eyes) by Jayce in the end of the episode, followed by the beautiful monologue of the sides of humanity. Then some more connections with the game and its lore: Viktor in the show is easily the most different from his counterpart in the game's lore. To a point where they actually replaced the game's Viktor with the show's Viktor after the show concluded. Surprisingly, I really like both versions of Viktor and he was for years one of my favourite characters in the game even before Arcane came along. The existing lore Viktor had was beautifully adapted into the show, even with the changes here and there, some more drastic than others. The line and philosophy "Glorious Evolution" was always a core part of the character so hearing him say it in the show was awesome. The core principles of Noxus are also represented by the Trifarix or the Counsil of Three, the leadership of Noxus. The Strategist, the Warrior and the Faceless. The Strategist and the Warrior's identities are well known and they are champions in the game but the Faceless is an unknown entity with Riot Games giving mixed signals about it being or not being the leader of the Black Rose.
