He bit Elijah. That's not character development, it's pretty much worse than daggering him since the bite actually causes him pain.

Also, now we know he clearly cares The for baby, as the accusation that he didn't obviously really hurt him. I think he just needs to understand that they can't read his mind and, considering history, they have no reason to see the development that is happening. Personally I see both sides, but will have to say I believe that klaus is in the right in this one.
