I actually always loved francis alot more than bash. I love how he is always trying to protect Mary, and how although he acknowledges that men in that time had a bigger voice than women he tries to listen to Mary as much as possible and lets her call the shots from time to time. He is so sweet to her, and sweet in general. But to be fair that could just be my preference. I am a sucker for curly hair. I actually find Mary a bit annoying. I do however get that looks and preferences has a say in how we percieve characters. You think mary(adelaide) is beautiful, so it’s easier to like the character (I’m guessing).

2018-02-06 00:09:00 +0000 UTCI love Leith!! (The baker who's flirting with Greer) he's a great character! I have always been kind of ambivalent towards Francis.. he's not a bad character, or a bad person... he's just.. kind of bland.. which is not what you want in a main character.. 🤔🙄

As of Francis - I never really liked him or shipped him with Mary, but it in no way ruined the series for me. Also, I'm pretty sure they make Francis, Mary etc make stupid decisions as a way to show how young and nieeve they are, especially compared to later seasons :)
