๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ”ฎCatnip!๐Ÿ”ฎ๐Ÿพ

Good morning Moon Babes!! I am absolutely screaming because I had a different post planned today but I somehow deleted it AFTER it was finished lol. No biggie, while I am working on writing it out today I wanted to share a really amazing and EASY houseplant! I am going to list all the juicy details about catnip and how I like to use it at the beginning of this post but towards the end I talk about the experiment I did with my own catnip plant and tips to water propagating the plant!

Catnip!

Catnip is known as a "feminine" plant, it is associated with Bast, Venus, and it's element is water!

Most commonly used in love, beauty, youth, happiness, astral travel, fertility, dream work, bringing high vibrations to a space, enchantments, protection, visions, wealth, trance work, bond work, anti anxiety, anti depression, courage,  releasing nightmares, and is a great for protection during sleep.

-Catnip is said to create a psychic bond between you and your cat when you feed it to them!

-Catnip is said to attract good spirits and good luck when grown around your home, I personally was told to hang it above doorways!

-Mix dragons blood and catnip together to help break a bad habit!

I personally adore catnip, and have it ALL over my home! I was firstly attracted to it because of my cat Luna, she like most cats loves the dried catnip you get with cat toys so I decided to get her a plant one day and see how she liked it. She's a really good cat and doesn't mess with any of my plants nor tries to snack on any of them thankfully, so when I brought it home I had to show her it was okay to eat. Once she realized it was hers she started nibbling bits off and seemed to like it! I will say I don't think the live plant makes cats go wild, she eats it and honestly chills out a bit. However once I harvest and dry the plant then give it to her she looses her mind lol.

Catnip is SUPER easy to keep alive and grows very abundantly in your home! It is definitely a plant I tell everyone is one of my top 10 houseplants! It grows best in bright indirect light, I water it once a week and it absolutely thrives. While it is a huge drama queen and looks like it's almost dead when it's thirsty, once you water it the plant leaps back to life like nothing happened!

I tried a little experiment a few weeks ago because Luna's catnip plant has been popping off and producing way more leaves than she seems to care to eat at the moment. I love water propagating plants and wanted to see if catnip was easy to water prop. Mainly so I can gift a bunch of catnip to my friends who have cats and and so I can have a bunch of warded plants around my apartment lol. I went ahead and trimmed a few branches from the mother plant and ploped it in a cleansed jar and set two jars in separate rooms in my house, one with super bright light and the other in a dimly light room. Surprisingly enough both had roots in about 4-5 days! They absolutely love being in the water and started sprouting new leaves super fast, so being me I went back to the mother plant and snagged a bunch more legs to prop and hang all over my apartment!

This plant is one you can easily get seeds for online and try to grow from there or I have found Lowes, Home depot, and pet stores sell it in small 4 inch pots for under $5 most of the time. They will quickly outgrow the nursery pot to make sure to get a larger potting option for your new plant!

Blessed be, Anastasia
