Behind the scenes: creating reference in 3D

One thing I noticed while working on my comic "Special Request" was that I often struggled drawing horns from various perspectives. Keeping them consistent was a real challenge (one that I gave up on, TBH). The thought of creating my own reference was always daunting. I toyed with the idea to sculpt some horns IRL, but never got around to it.

Well, the inspiration finally hit me and I decided to get into Blender, starting with a simple tutorial to learn the controls before moving on sculpting tutorials. It's been fun to slowly get the hang of it. I know it's far from perfect, with it being my first sculpt, but what I have so far will already help me with my art!

I will have to make another one of these for Azur, both of which will make my life a lot easier in the future. ☺

Please enjoy my shoddy renders as well. One day I'll learn how to make these look awesome. 🤣
