I think I acknowledged that she is playing on his pride and that is really what it is about. The point that she is not putting much on the line still stands. As for the rest, you raise some good points.

2024-05-02 04:11:33 +0000 UTCWell not really. First off, Lana is playing on his pride as a gambler and on his reputation as an undefeatable better. It has nothing to do with what she has to offer. Not at that point at least. Second, this plan might be more complicated, but it fits more her style than anything else. Not to mention the fun factor. Manipulating the guy in such way must be a lot more exciting to her than simply stealing the case. Third, we know Lana seem to start off comics with covers that sometimes seems to date a while back. Just think about the Dream Machine and The Reverse Spygirl cases.

2024-05-01 10:39:02 +0000 UTCThe assets that the two sides are wagering are hardly equal! Lindsay is betting whatever that device is, which is of incredible value. Lana is wagering -sex? She gives that away for free all the time! I think you've established well enough that Lindsay is, basically, a kind of gambling addict. At the least, he puts inordinate self-worth on his betting abilities. But I don't think that means he is just going to give that thing to Lana even if she does "win" -and I assume she has rigged the game in some way. If, as I suspect, he violently resists losing, then Lana's plan was all a bit too complicated when all she had to do was steal the device. It was just under his bed! BTW, if Lana has been with Sammy since at least the previous week, she has been setting this up for longer than usual.
