Important update for $10+ patrons!
Added 2016-02-13 10:38:55 +0000 UTCSo I've been debating this for a while. Starting in March, my sketch rewards will be drawn on A5 sized paper.
There are a few reasons for this:
- I never use the full "potential" of an A4 page anyway. Busts on A4 seems a bit excessive.
- International shipping for A4 costs 3,70€ (national 1,45€). The tier is $10. Out of those $10 I get $9.50 -- that's 8,70€. So after fees and shipping, I'm left with exactly 5€ (or 7,25€). It's not really worth it for me.
- Shipping A5 internationally will cost either 0,90€ or 1,50€ (national 0,70€ or 0,85€) depending on weight. HUGE difference.
- A5 is less likely to get damaged on the way to Patrons. Even with envelopes that have a cardboard back, I've had the big commissions arrive with some damaging / creasing / bending.
For Americans: A4 (old) is 8.3x11.7 and A5 (new) is 5.8x8.3 inches!
I hope this decision is reasonable.
The same applies to the $25+ tier. The $50+ tier will stay at A4 but I might reduce the frequency in the future (one commission per 2 months).
