Could be, or it could be a more straightforward situation of an online relationship that the Chief has gotten wind of and has begun fouling things up while trying to manipulate the situation. We'll have to wait and see!

It's odd mystery guy doesn't know what Iph looks like, but let's put that aside. So, presumably, the Chief has been posing as Iph online to get the mystery guy to give him information - information he is happy to part with because he thinks it will get him an in-person meeting with Iph. Which, he thinks, it did -but why there was such urgency to get Lana to mystery guy is a mystery. Did he threaten to stop supplying info if he did not meet Iph? That is not the vibe I get from when he met Lana. There are, at this point, three different factions trying to grab the mystery guy, including the Agency, the regiment goons working with Iph's husband, and some third party. Looking forward to the explanation! I see we are almost back to where the story started so it should not be too long now.
