The decor of the apartment was very much 1960s with various items from that era, as well as dark burgundy walls, so we made full use of the old Fuji camera and let the record player take a prominent position in the background. Other than that Katerina was fully nude in just a pair of white heels.

I used the Hobolite to light Katerina from the side. I used my Canon EF85mm lens that’s ideal for portraits and initially had an aperture of f4.0, resulting in ISO2000, but then lowered the aperture to f1.8 for a more atmospheric cinematic mood (and a much lower ISO). With f1.8 only Katerina’s eyes are in focus and anything else that’s equidistant from the lens.

I am adding a couple of screenshots with the camera settings for the benefit of those interested in photography technique.

What do you think of the results?

Ps: what colour would you use to describe the walls? I have said burgundy but I’m not sure! to
