Hey Everyone,

Havits here, This is a bonus add on that a lot of people requested last stream. Also it's a fresh movie that a lot of other reactors are checking out so I thought it would be good for Stef's channel. Enjoy another wonderful reaction from Stef, she's back to recording and we will be back on the schedule that i posted on discord.

So cute how often she compares vampire/undead things to Vampire Diaries 😆 The same with the White Walkers in GoT

Avocadorable

Whenever i see the "you have to invite a vampire in" thing, i always think of Klaus Mikaelson in the originals just throwing random shit from the door loll.

When they turn, they’re still them but gain all the knowledge of the one that made them so they know what they are. The one that makes them can also control them to an extent which is why they all tried to get Sammy. Mary bit Stack because it was a way for her and him to be together forever. Stack didn’t want to be with Mary because he couldn’t keep her safe but with both of them being vampires, she’d never be safer. They both wanted to turn Smoke and Mary because they’re family and wanted to live forever with them. After Remmick died, no one could control Stack and Mary so they could just be themselves which is why Stack and Mary never went after Sammy and kept Smokes promise because it’s them. Hopefully this clears a few things up.

Excalibur

The amount of metaphorical and cultural/historical meaning in this movie means it requires a lot of concentration so don’t worry about not talking to much Stef! A few things that might help understand Remmick’s character and his intentions better. You briefly mentioned at the very end you thought he was Irish and you’d be exactly right. He helps portray the correlative nature of oppression faced by Irish and Black historically. (England ruled Ireland for over 700 years, stamping out our language, music, culture, religious beliefs etc.) When over a million Irish arrived on American soil during the famine, the KKK hated and discriminated against the Irish too, hence Remmick getting so offended when Smoke and Stack assumed he was a Klan member. He is said to be extremely old, from a time in Ireland’s history that pre dates Christianity, hence the solid gold coins, and Christian prayer ‘Our Father’ being ‘forced upon his father’s people’. So he has seen everything. He talks about how he is lost and he longs to reunite with his people. He sees Sammi’s music as a breach of reality almost , conjuring spirits from both past and present. He tries an Irish version of this with his performance of ‘The Rocky Road to Dublin’. It’s almost like music transcends the oppression and hardship both groups experienced in a white supremacist society of that period of time. There is a sense of unity as the vampires recruit and infect each other one by one. It is borderline enticing to join them. Remmick truly is such a charismatic, multi- facetted villain. Furthermore, vampirism is steeped in aspects of Irish folklore and mythology. The ‘Abhartach’ is an ancient mythical monster said to be Ireland’s first vampire. Some of earliest and most iconic books and films based on vampires were written by the Irish, including Bram Stoker who created Dracula. All of this I believe influenced Ryan Coogler (director and producer) to make Remmick Irish and was an integral part of the story. I’m so sorry how long this is I absolutely love this film and could talk about it for hours lol.

Do you agree that Sinners one of if not the best vampire movie made?🧛🏽‍♂️🩸

Jordan Green🧛🏽‍♂️🥋

Nice surprise, my favorite movie of the year so far! There's almost too many great things to discuss in the comments. It's such a well made movie from a technical standpoint, the themes/plot are so strong, the characters are so well fleshed out to the point where the first half of the movie is so enjoyable I could just watch them set up this club as an entire movie but then they killed it with the vampire aspect. I LOVED that they included all the classic vampire tropes. And finally the music! Everything about the score was amazing, the different genres and like you pointed out, the movie is almost a musical lol. Great movie to watch for your first movie back, thanks as always! Also it's also been a lot fun watching you grow as a viewer of films, like you pointing out how you could hear the story Delta was telling them in the car or when you mentioned the camera following Lisa from one store to another in a continous shot (that's called a tracking shot). So cool to see you enjoying movies that way!
