X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Comments

For legal reasons, when Wanda & Peter were introduced in the MCU they couldn't call them mutants since everything and anything in relation to Xmen was own by 20th Century Fox Studios. MCU were able to use those characters but they had to be called enhanced. After The Infinity Saga, The Multiverse Saga began. By bringing Evan Peter's Quicksilver in Wandavision was a playful way to kinda tease (but not really, you'll know what I mean once you continue WV) Disney now owns Fox Studios so Xmen will be joining the MCU

By changing the past they change the future. All of it, so from and on the past movie won't matter in a way since that timeline has changed.

I’m really enjoying watching this with you stef. Great reaction as always. Can’t wait to finish the Marvel journey with you. Keep it up. You’re doing great.

Kevin Cavanaugh

Too late now but you should have watched the wolverine before this one but no matter

nathan

The only thing u need to forget about this movie is the end with mystique and wolverine. Just pretend it didn't happen cause even the future writers forget about that moment. Everything else is canon just except that

Ulises Montoya

Totally off topic, but if you have time in your movie scheduling things. It would be so awesome if you watched these movies like The Boy in the striped pajamas, Selena, Forrest Gump, Only the Brave, American Sniper, End of watch and a few others I'm not going to put down cause the list would be long. These movies are very underrated and not appreciated enough, but I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed

I love this film. Your boi was going through a rough time back in 2014 so when Future Charles tells Past Charles, "Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn't mean they're lost forever....” Absolute tears and I still get choked up every time I hear him say it. Dang it, that's good. To make it less confusing I would recommend not trying to connect everything from every film in the franchise. Whatever you do, definitely don't pay any attention to X-Men Origins: Wolverine because that will mess you up. especially when it comes to Deadpool. To simplify, you can keep X-Men, X2, and Last Stand in your head. Forget Origins. First Class can stay and can be thought of as a true prequel to the first three films. Days of Future Past erases everything before it (not sure what order you're going in but The Wolverine (2013) did come before this one-this is a good example of I don't know wut da hailllll is going on with the timeline but that one can stay in your head too...) So, Days of Future Past reboots everything and you can kind of think of it like the story getting back on track with the rest of the films. I BELIEVE there are different watch orders that correspond with the train wreck of timelines they made. Something called the Prime Timeline and Second Timeline along with a couple others. I think watching them in the order they released is the best and least confusing. Anyway, it do be crazy - Sent from 50 years in the future -

WillfulCobra

can't wait to watch this after i get off!!

Tank9807

Ah you're right. I have blocked that movie from my mind

Howie

Wait, are you telling me you haven't watched The Wolverine released in 2013 before watching Days of Future Past?

Josiah Anderson

Great reaction! Thank u Stef :) just one question, shouldn’t there be a second wolverine’s movie before this one? Did we skip it or we’re gonna watch it later

C021B01

We saw bone claws in Wolverine origins

Alex Gonzalez

Nope

Howie

no it is not

Howie

Was looking forward to this! Great reaction again. IMHO, this is the last good X-Men movie. 1. Yes it's the first time we get to see Logan's bone claws! 2. So in the comics, Peter (Quicksilver), is the son of Magneto. That's why it was interesting that he mention his mom once knew a guy who could (control metal). Don't worry too much about the two Quicksilvers. Remember that Fox and MCU are completely separate. Marvel/Disney had no rights to any X-Men characters (including mutants) and they had to make changes. 3. With the Mystique as Stryker ending, my guess is she simply disguised as him to have Wolverine rescued. But later on, the real Stryker gets his hands on Logan and performs those experiments on him. 4. Logan isn't indestructible. His healing powers make him very hard to kill. 5. This movie effectively erases the original X-Men trilogy. So X-Men, X2, the Last Stand and the first Wolverine movie never happened. The James McAvoy Xavier movies are the new timeline. But remember that Disney now owns the rights to X-Men, so it's possible there will be new changes and there could be a new reboot. 6. As for your Deadpool & Wolverine question, there is no way to answer without spoilers. The only thing you need to know is that Deadpool & Wolverine is first time they are a part of the MCU, so all the previous movies are Fox and considered separate from the MCU.

Howie

As others have said, this is my favorite X-Men film, even with the plot holes. Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy are always great as younger Magneto and Charles but I love their performances in this movie. It's also really fun that each X-Men movie from First Class onward jumps a decade, I like the 70's asthetic in this one alot. And even though it's kind of clunky I love they combined both casts for this story.

With the previous X-men movies, that timeline doesn't exist anymore because going back to 1973 was supposed to change that and make a new future. Killing Trask wouldn't of changed that future and they would of died, so when Mystique didn't kill him, it changed everything. That's why when Logan woke up, he saw everyone still alive and like Kitty said he would be the only one to remember that future. When Logan was pulled out of the water and Mystique acting as Stryker, somwhere on that timeline i'm sure something would of happened so that real Stryker would of captured him again. And the end scene credit you saw was pretty much the teaser for X-Men Apocalypse.

Thomas Hall

Stef, Your timing is 42 seconds off. I can't sync the timing with your timing. Yikes!

Jonathan

Don't think this is the Rogue Cut due to run-time for the film.

Scott S

Mine fav use to be this one - now it’s Logan! Cant wait for her to get to that one!

Alex Ocean

Wait, is this the Rogue cut?

Josiah Anderson

A bit off topic but Stef you haveeee to watch the last Spider-Man movie it’s going to blow your mind 🤯

Rico The great

Is there an eta on Kingdom of Heaven?

Tin

Days of future past has always been my favorite X-Men movie. The blending of the original cast and the first class cast was so good. When you are watching X-Men movies you kind of have to turn your brain off to the continuity and timelines. You’ll never make sense of it. We’ve been trying for years lol. You just have to enjoy the ride. Also, yes just keep watching and you’ll understand your questions for the Deadpool and Wolverine movie. In due time. Thanks for the reaction!

Calbert

I wonder if the MCU will ever reveal the connection between Magneto and Scarlet Witch. They totally could now.

Taylor Stuckey

My favorite part of this movie Stef, is the kitchen scene where quicksilver is running so fast time around him time completely slows down and saves Charles, Wolverine, and Magneto

Jordan Green🧛🏽‍♂️🥋

Please tell me it’s the Rogue Cut.
