I think it’s time for AOT

Deonte Gray

Hey Stef in answer to your question the two coins over the eyes were put over the deceased in order for them to pay the ferryman Charon and go across the river Styx and enter the realm of the dead. Greek mythology and the customs are definetly interesting 🙂

Mr Music Addict

Erik

I don't think you're suppose to like Paris. You are not being harsh at all and what transpired because of his own selfishness. That is the core of this tragedy. I honestly think this roll for Orlando Bloom hurt his career. Maybe I'm off on that, but in my memory his career went nowhere, even though he had appearances in Pirates of the Caribbean, and Lord of the Rings after this film. The story with Achilles is legend/myth. Believed to have been blessed by the gods, his mother, Thetis, made him invulnerable by dipping him in the River Styx while he was still an infant. This is one of the rivers of the underworld. Though she didn't fully put him in the water, as she held him by his foot, meaning that was the one place he was vulnerable. This is why we have an Achilles Tendon in our leg, and why we refer to someone's downfall as their Achilles heel.

True, though not for the faint of heart who are uninitiated in the use of all the relevant tools.

Hans Engelen

With some tools you can convert videos from 25 fps (PAL) to 23.976 fps or the other way round. I always use Avidemux

The first time I ever saw this I felt the SAME EXACT way as you did towards Paris. I was actually disgusted by his character but the next couple times I watched it I realized although he’s a weakling small fry. It’s hard to blame him for the war. Agamemnon been wanting to invade Troy. Hector told the counsel not to attack their ships while they were sleeping. Paris told them to burn the horse. And at the end Achilles did kill his brother and drag his body behind his chariot. But this is a cult classic. A legendary film that’s why you had to watch it. The gladiator, 300, Troy ect. This film is really popular with guys I think.

i would recommend joker

Yeah amazing that after going digital for so long we are still stuck with relic leftover issues from the analog years. Of course that is largely due to the age of the movie which was still shot on 35mm cameras which explains the fps.

Hans Engelen

Omg Hacksaw Ridge is such a tear jerker! At least for me.. I cry like a baby everytime xD And Andrew Garfield is such an amazing actor!! Looking forward to see your reaction :)

Jgeir

Hey! I was struggeling with the same now. I tried AppleTV and Amazon Prime versions but they both run a little faster :P

Jgeir

Paris was such a little weasel in this film

Jay_

V for Vendetta is an amazing film everyone should see. It's also great to react to.

Michael

Yeah all the different versions they make can get tricky if you need to sync. But I got by on resyncing through the subtitles.

Hans Engelen

Havits: unfortunately, all i could find online is the extended 4 hour cut, so stef had to watch this on amazon prime which is the theatrical version. I had to screen record that version.

Stef Solari

You should watch the movie Kingdom of Heaven

Lucas96

Ah that might be it, yes, it did seem to run just that itsy bitsy faster on my version. I just tweaked it every now and again. So no biggy. Good advice for the other members though.

Gran Torino

You should watch the movie, Braveheart! I know you'll like that movie.

Will Castillo

Do you need the German version? make sure you have the regular version with 23.976 fps. The regular version with 25 fps runs a little faster

- This movie is based off an ancient greek poem by Homer called The Iliad. It's a very long poetic telling of the Trojan War. It focused on heritage, duels, gods, and only very briefly, love. The poem glorified war and battles, death and defeat, and it showed the infighting between the Greek gods. This is an interesting telling of it, and of course hollywood-ized. - All that being said, I think this movie shows human nature very well. Agememnon using the jealousy of his brother to gain more power. Achilles fighting in the war to leave a lasting memory. Odysseus wanting to tell a good story. Hector loving his family and defending his homeland. It shows that life sometimes isn't fair, no matter how good or noble we live. Historically you've probably heard of Helen of Troy, "The face that launched 1000 ships". You've also heard of a "Trojan Horse", a way of sneaking into somewhere without them realizing. We all have an "Achilles Heel". All of that is based on this story. Achilles is so powerful in the story, because his mother dipped him as a baby in a river that made him invincible, except for where she held him at his heel. Paris's arrow struck true at his heel, his one weakness. The coins is a Greek burial practice to pay the boatman/ferryman who ferry's the dead across the river from the world of the living to the world of the dead. Those who don't get the proper burial could perhaps not find the underworld. The Hector/Achilles duel was one of the best fight choreographies we've probably ever seen in a movie. I feel stage combat always makes it "appear" that people are fighting but this one really felt like the blows were trying to kill each other. Fun fact: Brad Pitt and Eric Bana made a deal about paying the other if they mess up the combat and accidentally hit each other. Eric Bana did not owe Brad Pitt any money apparently.

Odd, can't seem to find any version that stays in sync, oh well will just have to tweak it constantly.

regular version

Trojan horse Achilles heel

Zachary Been

Is this the regular version or directors cut? PS. Sean Bean isn't the only GoT character in this movie. Glaucus (the Troy general, James Cosmo) played Jeor Mormont (the Night Watch commander). PPS. The coins are to pay the mythical ferryman (Charon) that takes them across the river Styx into the afterlife.

Hans Engelen

Achilles was a baad man. And by bad I mean baddass lol

J’aurda

Still recommending Yesterday and Kingdom of Heaven (Director's Cut) :)
